Reuters: ‘Most Hareidim [Ultra-Orthodox] are Not Zionist’

“Most Haredim are not Zionist because they say the state of Israel should wait for the Messiah, but many went to Israel to escape anti-Semitism elsewhere. One small radical faction, Neturei Karta, staunchly rejects Zionism and praises Iran and the Palestinian Hamas movement for opposing it.” – Reuters

True Torah Jews (TTJ) is the group that explains this very point: Torah observant Jews are… not Zionist because they say the state of Israel should wait for the Messiah. It’s interesting that Reuters caught on to this and is able to see the difference between the main stream TTJ-type Hareidim vs. the  small, radical, Iran-loving Neturei Karta.

  1. “Torah observant Jews are… not Zionist.” This is untrue and offensive.

  2. The organization True Torah Jews are not Torah Jews anymore. Chareidim in general are not anymore Torah observant than reform or conservative Jews. Torah Judaism is Modern Orthodoxy
