Analysis: Obama: I Hate Business and So Should You!

This past weekend in Roanoke, Virginia, President Obama made some outrageous comments, comments that should raise the hair of any employee or employer in the United States of America. These comments show either how clueless Obama is iregarding how business operates, or how clueless he hopes you are.

We will analyze these comments using his own words (Video of these Comments at end of post):

…look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.  You didn’t get there on your own…

What he means to say is, even if you worked hard to be successful, I can still take whatever I want from you because I helped you get there.

…I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.  There are a lot of smart people out there.  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.  Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there…

Now he’s working on your brains and your feelings. You’re all very smart just like those “big” business people, and you all are working hard just like them, and there is no reason they should be more successful than you are, and if they are, then they took it from you, and you should now hate them for it.

…If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive…

Why should they be the only ones to profit off your hard work? I’ll tax the hell out of them and I’ll give it all back to you (just vote for me and you’ll see).

…Somebody invested in roads and bridges…

Can anyone tell me where the government took the money to build those roads and bridges? Did the government manufacture some great product and sell it at a profit? I don’t think so. Those bad business people, they gave some tax dollars to the government, and the government took those dollars and built some roads and bridges.

…If you’ve got a business. You didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen…

You business people, don’t you dare take any credit for your success, and don’t you dare complain when we tax the hell out of you. You didn’t do anything, you should be happy that we leave you with a few dollars for bread and butter.

…The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet…

Happens to be that the internet was created by the Department of Defense (yes, that same Department of Defense that the president wants to slash their budget, so that they can’t invent some new innovation) it was invented for military purposes, and later also released to the general public.

If this isn’t enough to show you what this President’s philosophy towards business is, nothing will.

Now we can fully understand why business would rather not hire or expand under Obama, which would not explain why the unemployment rate wouldn’t move down below 8 percent.

I wonder if people realize how unconnected some of what he said, is to the others. “There are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there”, so what helped the successful according to Obama? A “great teacher”, “this great American system”, and investments in “roads and bridges”. Well, other than the first, all the not so successful also had access to those (and even the first many not so successful had), so obviously those aren’t the causes of success. What is? Hard work and brains. You’ll ask what about all those that worked hard, are smart, and weren’t successful? That’s god’s decision, or what some call luck.
So yes the successful do deserve to keep the fruits of their success, and yes they did build it (with god’s help), and no they didn’t necessarily have an advantage no one else had.

If every individual was a business owner, who would be able to become a billionaire? Nobody would want to work for another. But since some do work for others, billionaires get richer at the expense of the lifestyle of those who run the gravy train.

Obama is trying to imply that if you opened a business and hired employees, you hired employees because you NEEDED their help. Therefore, if you, as a business owner, become a millionaire off your business, and you had help from employees (help that, if it had not been there, you would not have become a millionaire), then yes, you didn’t get there on your own. He’s not saying you can take what you want from people you worked for; he’s saying that the people you worked for should recognize the value of the help they get from employees. So the employees who helped you become a millionaire are sometimes on food stamps.

▌…I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there…▐

He’s not talking to hourly wage-earners. He’s telling business owners about all the hard-working people who helped you become a millionaire, while the wage-earner probably isn’t even a ten-thousandaire. He didn’t tell wage-earners to hate the owners of the business they work for. He’s pointing out that some people are both intelligent and hard-working, and a person may choose to work hard for someone else instead of building a business of their own. Some owners don’t actually contribute anything to a business except a payroll. The rest of the time they sit around the house, or travel, or cruise in their Italian sports car, all while his employees fund it with their labor, all while probably only earning enough money to make it from one paycheck to the next.

►If this isn’t enough to show you what this President’s philosophy towards business is, nothing will.◄

The President’s philosophy toward business seems to be that businesses should be responsible social engineers and pay people enough money that they don’t have to resort to crime to get more money. But doing that is going to require that something is done about the futures market and stock trading. Someone who sits around all day like a lazy bum and does nothing but collect dividends on stock investments is NOT earning money. He’s simply collecting money that was generated by the labor of people who are poor.

It’s the truth. Swallow it and it won’t make you sick.
