I always wondered why a guy who has a bad voice, odd-shaped nose, red face, and does not know how to end a speech, is considered a good speaker. I never got it until I noticed that since JFK was elected in 1960 all the way to fifty years later, the Democratic Party has only one of its Presidents that everyone in the Party can really like and approve of his economic record without excuses as Dems need to do to make Obama’s time in office look good.
So Clinton’s “ability” to give a good speech is A) true largely only in the eyes of Dems who look at him as their hero who got back the WH for them when it looked that the GOP will have it for a fourth consecutive term. Between Carter, LBJ and Obama, Clinton is the only one who had a solid economy that people remember with nostalgia. Him being a hero is the same reason why Dems defended him despite doing stuff that would get him fired and divorced from any other job and wife. B) Since it became a narrative that he is a good speaker, every shmuck repeats it because it’s in style to say so; just as everyone KNEW that Facebook will sky rocket on the day of the IPO.
