Restler-Olechowski Election Results…

UPDATED NUMBERS OF THE ELECTIONS AS OF SEP 19 ARE AVAILBLE HERE

Friday Sep 14 4:10 PM: SEVEN Takeaways Whether Restler Wins or Loses

Frifday 11:10 AM: City and State reports that Restler is behind by 136 votes. Sources tell me the Aroynim together with Restler have 250 absentees. The other side did not give their numbers.

Friday 12:54 AM: As of fifteen minutes ago, the lead dropped to about 125, due to one ED which was over-counted in favor of Restler’s opponent.

Friday 12:10 AM:  Multiple sources report Restler currently down with about 200 votes. Restler says he’s not conceding until every last vote will be counted.

Thursday 11:14 PM: Restler needs a massive showing in “outside Williamburg” in order to pull off a win. A net of 2,133 to cover his loss in Williamburg. Did he get it? I don’t have credible stats from those areas at this time. Check out my Twitter account too @YossiGestetner for more results soon. I gotta leave Brrooklyn. It’s late.

Thursday 10:38: 8,721 people voted in Williambrug. Restler got 3,294 and Chris whatever got 5,427. I don’t know yet how many were Hasidic, and how many voters were non-Jewish.

Thursday 10:30: One poll watcher group sends me these stats from Hasidic Williamburg: Restler 2,164 votes; Chris whatever 3,234 votes from all but the main voting location (Heyward), where 3,300 votes need to be counted. But… remember not all those 8,698 votes are Hasidic.

Thursday 10:27: Stats from good sources suggests that Hasidic turnout was well, well above my 6K number. Perhaps more than 8,000!

Thursday 10:24: 1,121 Voted in the Kent location. Restler got 454, the other guy Chris something has 669.

Thursday 10:18: The count in Tayolr-Wythe polling station of Williamsburg is 621 Restler, and 960 for the other guy. There are also 100 emergency ballots.

Thursday 10:07: The count in Heyward (almost all voters there Hasidic), is 3,332. This location is where approximately half of Hasidic Williamsburg votes, based on the new voting locations.

Thrsday 9:36 PM: Hasidim are still voting in Heyward!

Thursday 8:30 PM: More than 9,000 Hasidim participated in the June 26 Congressional Primary. However, the numbers today will likely be down by at least 30%, to an estimated total of 6,000.

Thursday 8:21 PM: The BOE combined two voting locations in Hasidic Williamsburg. During the June Primary, those locations had a combined 3,900 Hasidic Votes, with at least 60% being from the Pro-Lopez, Anti-Restler block. As of 7:00 Today, the new location had only 2,400 votes. This means Lincoln Restler is on healthy ground for a positive night.

    CHRIS!!!!!

Restler is the Voyager! needs to win this election, he paved the way to tumble this monster Lopez.

  • Crystal Clear

Thank goodness Vito Lopez is off the map! Sad that Restler couldn’t make it, good days to come!

  • joe klien

suckes the fact that it wasnt a finish up of the lopez era.

  • joe klien

    plus it was so close

  • Elizabeth

Good riddance to Vito (finally!), but I have a lot of hesitations about Restler. Seems to be quite an egomaniac. Not a good sign that he’s already so self-obsessed at such a young age.

  • joe klien

    ur point elizabeth?

  • Elizabeth

@joe klien: I voted for Restler today (an anti-Vito vote). But I’ve been around politics a long time, and I am skeptical of Lincoln. Too slick, too narcissistic. Everything is about him. He constantly takes large amounts of credit for things that I KNOW he did little to effect. Not a good sign.

lincoln shouldn’t put all the blame on vito, as I’m sure he will. i know more than a few people in my neighborhood who reacted negatively to the same things that i think elizabeth sees in lincoln. but he was still a better choice than a vito puppet. which is a very low bar.

i went a few times yesterday at the polling place on heyward street there was no non Jew there every time i was there so all the votes there are Jewish hasidic votes
