According to the Federal Government’s Energy Information Administration, the average price for a regular gallon gas in the United States in September was $3.849. This is higher than all but two months that Bush was in office: June and July 2008 when the prices were $4.054 and $4.062 respectively. The September price average surpassed all but three months of the Obama Administration when the average price for the months March and April of this year and May of last year were higher than August.
With the close of September, the average price for a regular gallon gas in 2012 stands at $3.66; breaking the 2011 record average of $3.52 which in itself broke the previous record annual average of $3.24 for all of 2008.
