Williamsburg – 79-Year-Old Assaulted By Two Girls; Perps in Custody

photo 4A 79-year-old Orthodox Jewish man was punched in the back of his head and knocked to the ground Saturday night in Williamsburg.

R’ Naftali Lebovits, a well know member of the community, was walking on Taylor street at around 1:25 a.m. when two young girls punched him in the back of his head and knocked him to the ground, before fleeing the scene, Police said.

Witnesses called Willamsburg Shomrim who immediately arrived to the scene. They started following the two perpetrators. The girls ran into 541 Whyte avenue, while Shomrim members held an eye from a distance. As the cops arrived to the scene and after the victim identified the 2 pups, they were both taken into custody

Hatzolah transported the victim to NYU hospital, where he was treated for mild injuries. He was released Sunday morning from the hospital.

NYPD identified the two suspects as Raven Small, 20, and 18-year-old Patyana. They were charged with assault.

None live in this area and it’s unclear at this point, what they did in the neighborhood, an NYPD source said.
