Per July 15th filings, Gov. Andrew Cuomo drew individual donations from a variety of Jewish real estate, financial and entertainment elites, including $40,000 from Michael Steinhardt, $60,000 from Eli Broad, and $50,000 from Steven Spielberg & Jeffrey Katzenberg each…
Seeking to shore up his standing with Jewish voters, Cuomo also spent $11,419 for print ads in the Jewish papers across the state. That includes about $7000 in Passover greeting ads in the Jewish Press, Jewish Week, Buffalo Jewish Review, Hamodia, Der Yid, LI Jewish World, The Jewish Ledger, The Jewish World and the 5 Towns Jewish Times.
The governor leads his Republican opponent by 71-14 among Jewish voters. Westchester County Executive ROb Astorino got minimal contributions from several Republican Jewish donors.
74% of Jewish voters across the state of New York have not heard yet from Astorino in order to form an opinion. So far, Astorino has yet to spend money in the Jewish papers or online publications, other then conduct an interview with one of the weekly partisan magazines.
