Two Additional Suspects Arrested for Social Media & Phone Threats Against Cops nypdThe NYPD along with the Intelligence Bureau have arrested and charged two additional men for making threats against members of the police department, police sources told JP.

As reported earlier, the New York Police Department arrested 4 men for making online threats over the past few days. JP has now learned that detectives have arrested another two suspects for making threats via Facebook and in phone calls. 

The first suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jose Maldonado from Brooklyn, was arrested after he made threats  against  cops on Facebook. He is facing multiple charges after turning himself in to the 90 pct. earlier today. Police searched him at his apartment on Wednesday, but he managed to escape by jumping out from a back window and fleeing. A short while later he turned him self in.

The second suspect, identified as 41-year-old Tyrone Melnille from Manhattan, was arrested after he phoned in to the 84 pct Tuesday afternoon and made threats, the source said. He was charged with making a false threat and aggravated arrest.

Six suspects have been arrested so far. There are currently no other serious threats against officers, the source said.
