Today, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the State Police and the State Division of Human Rights are investigating an alleged hate crime in Wellsville, New York. Last Monday night, before the election, a local baseball field’s dugout was graffitied with “Make America White Again” and a swastika.

“New York has zero tolerance for bigotry, fear and hatred, and those who seek to undermine the core values this state and nation were founded upon,” Governor Cuomo said.

Last week, Village Police Chief Tim O’Grady reminded media outlets that this was an isolated incident. “In no way does this act represent the sentiments of the Wellsville residents, and it will not be condoned,” O’Grady said in a public statement.
