Exclusive: NYPD Rabbi Promoted to Chief Chaplain

02_1093_kassThe New York City Police Department Chaplin Rabbi Alvin Kass will be promoted to three-star chief during a ceremony at NYPD Headquarters this morning, JP has learned.

Rabbi Kass, 80, has served as the NYPD’s Jewish chaplain since 1966 and in 2002 was promoted to chief chaplain.

The promotion will be announced during a ceremony as NYPD celebrates 50 years of Rabbi Kass Chaplin to the NYPD.
