The Second Avenue Subway is officially opening for revenue service on January 1st after an opening ceremony on December 31st. In a press release today, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the installation of more than 12,600 new in-car subway maps and approximately 1,000 large station maps featuring the new line, with installation of the new maps on existing trains to begin this weekend.
However, you don’t have to wait until 2017 to take a look at the new lines. Last week, Cuomo gave a tour of a still-under construction station to CBS2’s Marcia Kramer. Watch the video above to find out what to expect.
