To say that President Trump Mid-East envoy Jason Greenblatt’s past two weeks have been hectic would be an understatement.
On Wednesday, the former Trump Organization chief legal officer met with Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas and other Arab leaders at the Arab League summit in Jordan. Last week, Greenblatt met with both Abbas and PM Benjamin Netanyahu in an effort to jump-start peace talks.
During a brief visit to Jerusalem Wednesday following the Arab League summit, Greenblatt met with Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, the illustrious head of the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak.
Israeli media reports said Greenblatt (who is Orthodox himself) asked Rabbi Edelstein to bless him with success in his diplomatic endeavors promoting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
“When a person wants to do good … he is helped from heaven,” the rabbi reportedly responded.
According to Jewish Tidbits, Rabbi Edelstein was in Jerusalem to attend a conference at Binyanei Hauma, Israel’s International Convention Center, for yeshiva students.
